This would be a perfect time for a short shift kit that will replace part of
the shifting links depending which kit you choose.
Also, while the tranny is out, I would at least clean/relube the front CV on
the driveshaft which seems to be the first part to fail, or even rebuild the
whole drive shaft, both CV and bearing, if you feel some play in them.
