Hmm. My reading of the regs allows chips but not turbo exchanges. 
And I tend to get lumped in with some pretty serious hardware as 
we're all afterthoughts at both Porsche and BMW club events.

At my first event in September, there were 3 cars, a purpose built 
open wheel job, a built Mitsu with coilovers, big R compounds, 
horsepower, and me!

Tires cost me $200 for the 4, had 1 day on them. Not too expensive 
a mistake, if it was one.  I also thought that STX allows R 
compound.

I'm on the BFG tires now. Pretty good, but I need more grip (well, 
actually, I need better form...)

I'm running Eibachs, Bilsteins and HSport bars. I also understand 
that the VW/Audi suspension doesn't really like to be lowered too 
much (see Dick Shine Racing website for discussion).

Talking out my nose on that one, I ASSumed that the other cars

Yes. There's a Test and Tune tomorrow at Devens, but it's going to 
be raining most of the day and I've got too much to do...I did an 
Evo school in my urS6 a few years ago, will do another one in the 
spring.

I also just signed up for the winter driving school, but that's a 
different topic. And I'm not sure what car I'll drive...the C5 A6 
or the B5 A4. I was not planning on putting winter tires on the 
A4...so I guess it will be the A6. My winter wheels won't fit over 
the Porsche brakes...
