the vibration isn't improving, and i think i'm starting to notice it more under other circumstances, but maybe i'm just hypersensitive now.
the vibration is noticeable when transitioning from coast to acceleration at about 20 mph. i've noticed it in 2nd and 3rd gear. how do i determine whether it is the driveshaft bearing or CV joint?

I would say your acceleration shudder is a sign that your front driveshaft CV is starting to go. I felt it by the gear shift tunnel- but not the knob-- so yours may be some other issue. I had to replace mine last year with one from a Porsche-- With ramps it is a mildly entertaining process- you have to remove your exhaust system.-- but you do not have to pull your drive shaft. I did mine in place just removing the front CV joint with a two jaw puller that I really trust.
