You can also hit the "boost cut out" or expereience s hut off because
of what the ECU believes is an overboost situation with a bad  MAF or
an MAF with dirty connections.

But if you were expereiencing this In my experience it feels like the
car shuts off for a quick moment, not simply a lack of boost.

For a lack of boost I'd check the boost line to the ECU where it comes
off the T at the back of the engine. At that point it's rubber and 
may be cracked or broken causing the ECU to get the boost signal
partially/momentarialy.

I'd also recommend pressure testing your boost hoses/system and look
for any bad hoses (not just the samcos), there are other hoses that
carry boost/vacuum that can fail.

Is the MAF/turbo hose in one piece, I had mine fall apart on me.
