[s-cars] Well, here's my luck for the month of November....

Uh-oh, it's deer story thread.
My by far best one. On motorcycles, I'm following my buddy on his BMW R-80.
About twilight. Suddenly a (thankfully small) deer darts out from the right
and, as animals often do, does a little stutter-step as it sees us that only
puts it right in the middle of the road.
My buddy, with amazing reflexes, swerves the bike left, getting in a good 3
feet of upright juke before the bike goes down - just enough to not plow
straight into the middle of the deers abdomen. But as it's on the way down,
the back end of the bike clips the deer in the front head/shoulders and
knocks it down the road as well. I see this whole thing go down right in
front of me. As I'm jamming down on the brakes and trying not to lock the
front wheel, suddenly I'm swerving through the three of them (aka Buddy,
Bike, Deer). I come to a stop, look back and my buddy is lying on the
pavement almost eye-to-eye with the deer. After an eternal millisecond the
animal leaps to its feet (hooves?) semi-successful and half-darts
half-lurches off into the woods. Leaving us in the middle of the road with
a complete "WTF did that actually happen". Whole thing took seconds.
Amazingly my buddy was OK physically although pretty mentally freaked, and
the bike only cosmetically banged up. We're pretty sure the deer didn't make
it very long as it had been bleeding a significant trail behind it.
