[s-cars] Breaking an S6A

I presume you have done some looking and are aware of how few C4
avants have hatch interior trim in new condition, and that the dealer
price for replacement pieces approaches the value of the vehicle.

Those plastic pillars that hold the clips take a lot of stress holding
the
upper part in place with the heavy roller screen, so I would use the
best
adhesive I could find. The two part bumper repair tubes from a body and
paint supply house worked for me. You need something that has good
holding power but is tough and flexible as well. There is room for a
good
heavy application there. I reinforced the screw points by gluing large
washers to keep the plastic from breaking there and that helps keep the
large clips and trim screws from taking all the pressure.

I saturated the side cover fiber parts where the screw holes were
enlarged
and cracked with gorilla glue polyurethane adhesive and bonded an extra
piece of fiber material inside, all saturated with the gorilla glue.
Mine just
took a washer for the screw head to hold things in place.

Put a little blue thread locker on the screws like you would corvette
trim
so they don't loosen and add stress to your repairs. It's the movement
that allows the parts to break, or letting the roller screen snap back
in
the holder.
