[s-cars] Chip upgrades

EURO 98 RON is the equivalent of US 93 (RON + MON/2), easy to find here
in the Midwest. 98 RON is also not available at high altitudes, 95 RON
is used (ala 91 Octane on the west coast USA)

IMO/E chipsets aren't what makes AAN motors run lean with boost, it's
the stock injectors. IME, the RS2 injectors can be put into just about
(if not) all AAN chipsets without throwing any air or fuel codes. A good
idea for anyone over a "stage I" chipset.

A K24 can routinely spike boost levels of 21psi (2.4bar) for peak
horsepower, but can't support that in continuous horsepower due to
heatsoak. For a street car, 20psi boost levels on the k24 is pretty
common and won't hurt the turbo. (2.5PR) 22psi> IME is the boom level
of the k24. Or quoting Pitzo (tm), "the turbo wheels will disassemble
themselves without the aid of wrenches")

Wastegate springs can help the low end resolution of the N75 valve in
any chip application, but you do lose some of the Motronic protection
designed into the software.

IIRC, the early TAP chip was only boost on the AAN, the latter were
pretty much standard programming "stage x" chipsets. Hard to find the
boost-only anymore, haven't seen one in over 10 years.

Not a criticism, but MTM chipsets run pretty lean as well- designed for
98RON gasoline, a little hard to find stuff that's equivalent here in
the
US- there have been
many reports of knock under heavy load with MTM chips as well.

I've never had that issue with Lehman chips, but they're less common and
don't produce as much power or boost- maybe for good reason, as the
stock
K24 isn't
doing a whole lot of good over 18psi.
