I am distressed that you would recommend Blau for the filter, Bill.   
Not that his
filter won't fit, because it probably will, but because he charges $10  
more than
Miramar Audi charges for the genuine part-no question it works.

Matt, hopefully this QW thread will help clear up your fan support  
bracket and
bearing issue.  I don't know what part was ground down but you may  
need to
replace some parts.  Note that the UrS4 and UrS6 brackets and bearings  
are
different.
