[s-cars] summer tires

Bear in mind, those Ecsta V700 are DOT-R's, with "treadwear rating" (on
DOT-R's, the treadwear rating is merely a joke that is part of the
requirements of the "DOT" part of those tires) well under 100. Street tires
of the selection you mentioned (RE-11, Dunlop DZ1SS, Nitto NT-05, Hankook
Z222 RS3 to name a few) are of significantly longer lasting, somewhat harder
compounds. DOT-R's are generally "disposable" after an HPDE event,
particularly with someone as fast as Bruce behind the wheel. Hell, my
DOT-R's on the comparatively lightweight, low horsepower Saabaru are done
after 8 autocross events, and those type of events are nowhere near as tough
on tires as a HPDE.
