P,
Worth searching back issues of Grassroots Motorsports (within the last two
years, can't recall the issue). According to them, the DDS1SS are very much
the equal of the Bridgestones in terms of on track performance, the price
being a notably "firmer" (from my recollection of the article, I'm being
kind) ride and somewhat weaker high speed wet performance. OTOH, it's more
resistant to heat and seems to be a favorable choice (again, opinions biased
towards their on track performance) for the "heavier" set of cars.
That being said, on the Saabaru forum (I don't spend much time on the true
Subaru forums) the Dunlop has gained favor over the BS, although I'd be
willing to bet that is based heavily upon budget constraints vs.
performance/real world livability concerns. Also seems to be the Street Tire
class tire of choice at the regional level of Autocross around where I live,
but that may also be based upon budget concerns. So far, locally, I've
heard little "real world" complaints about the Dunlops. IF I switch to
Street Tire class in the next season, I'll be rolling on Dunlops.
