Unless this is something you've done before and have an arrangement I advise against it. Do you go to the steakhouse and bring a piece of meat with you then tell the waiter "Here, cook this for me for half price"? 

This is a tough business to be in with ever increasing overhead thanks to the 50 unique multi-thousand-dollar scan tools and special hand tools needed to keep current on the cars. Buying parts from a wholesale warehouse and applying a reasonable markup is part of what keeps the lights on and food on the table of you mechanics' families. 

Beyond that there's the liability. If by some off chance that bearing you supply is defective what's the first thing that comes to mind? "Damned monkey at the shop screwed up installing my new bearing". Nope, not a good situation.
