2/3: http://www.genuinevwaudiparts.com/ has some exploded diagrams and
is an excellent source for OEM/Dealer-only parts.  I bought my
tensioner through them and they weren't quite the cheapest, but had
good service and fast turnaround.

4: Many people over on Quattroworld use shell Rotella T 5w/40
synthetic.  That's what I'm using now, and it's been great.  You will
get recommendations all over the board.
