I didn't ask, but I doubt they tried. Maybe they already know about these Valeos? The shop is a high-end euro specialist, so they've probably got some experience with them. In fact, they did the 134a conversion for the PO, so they're likely the ones who installed it.

They did quote a full system flush (multiple times) for me as part of the repair. This place isn't cheap, but it's the only one I can find that I trust to do the job right. I've been burned by a few different shops on A/C stuff in the past, so I'd much rather just pay up front. They offered to supply a new condenser (not sure if they verified availability) but that would add nearly $1K to the already large bill. I thought I'd be able to use the '93 unit so I picked up the car, and here I am...
