I don't think so, but that sounds like something I said before. : )
Essential information is missing though; the characteristics of the
MIL operation while all this is going on, i.e., comes on when the key
is turned on, goes off when the engine starts, and doesn't come on
during engine operation? Then, any DTCs showing up because of this
issue? You would hope to see one if the CPS is the problem.
CPS could do that even if it is just dirty or oil soaked, or a weak
connection because of corrosion, dirt, etc. The sensors can be
affected by ignition noise and result in delayed or no start. Perhaps
starting with the condition of plugs and connectors, then coils and
the connections and fuel pressure regulator then pump after that could
be a logical course of action.
It never hurts to change the ignition switch. It gets pretty easy the
third time or so. : )
