Well -5 F isn't too common by me, when it has happened, the car crankily started fine with 10W-30 Mobil 1, so I doubt it is your 0W-40 causing the problem (most certainly your oil was at 0 on the viscosity scale that temp), I'd bet your battery is getting weak, or you have corrosion at the terminals or the dreaded splice. Easiest to test the battery first.
