If I'm not mistaken, the AAN rotates clockwise (when facing the crank from the front).  If that's the case, the fan, being driven by the back of the serpentine belt, rotates counterclockwise (again, as seen from the front of the car).  That means the action of the belt would tend to tighten a normally threaded clutch connection and loosen one that was reverse threaded.

My '93 part is definitely normal thread.  The slight differences I can see in the parts on my '92 made me wonder if it might be LH.  I tried both directions with quite a bit of force.  A bigger wrench (with a drive connection on the end, too) is on the way, so I'll either break it free or just plain break it.

As an aside, has anyone else noticed that the fan is not radially symmetrical?  What's up with that?
