[urq] First of many urq questions (food for thought..)

I have a light flywheel in my 85 and it is awesome. The response in near
instantaneous and I know it revs quicker, allowing to get to the boost
quicker. In traffic it takes a little getting use to. Mine is the stock unit
with about 7lbs of material removed. All work was done by the original owner
who happens to own a machine shop.

Did we ever decide if the lightened flywheel, ie. 3B, is advantageous, or do
we WXer's need the inertia of the heavier one ?

Steve,
Yes, WX flywheel has the timing pin at 60 degrees BTDC. The later cars (MC,
3B, AAN, ABY, etc.) all have the timing pin at 62 degrees BTDC. The only
effect of using a late flywheel with WX/WR electronics would be that the
timing would be advanced by 2 degrees.

Steve

... I don't have the references here to back me up, but it has always been
my understanding that the WX and MC engines differ in the location of the
"reference" signal as measured to the actual TDC of the crankshaft ...
