The ES100 is a good tire for the price. It has great cornering grip, but
the sidewalls are pretty soft That is the biggest complaint i have about
them, actually.. Going from the A520's to the ES100's caused a VERY
noticable lag in turn in response on the car. W/ the 520's, the car as
almost telepathic as far as steering input, and there was no soft rolling
over on to the tires at highway speeds. They had the stiffes of an R
compound tire. But the es100's feel so much softer,at the same size. Im
running 225/45-16's on the car, and though, as i meintioned, the grip is
superb - both wet and dry, the stiffness of the sidewall simply doesnt
compare to the a520's.

For the price, they are great, and I would recommend them. Of course, keep
in mind that the spring rates im running in my car are progressives 375-475
(or something like that) in the front and 325-450lbs in the
rear. Aditionally, i have the koni sports in there (though i think they
are all blown), and delrin control arm bushings front and rear.... so, you
might not notice the differnece as much as i did. But it was most notable
on the freeway, where i used to be able to jiggle the steering back and
forth - before, the chassis stayed set on to the path of hte steering input
and the car had no roll whatsoever, especially in the rear. but now, doing
the same hting (though it may be due, significantly, to the fact that the
tires are essentially brand new and have full tread depth, while the others
were at the wear bars.). So, while it handles like a g-kart before, it is
a ibt more like a car now, in that you can feel the tires take a set before
the suspension starts doing its work.. it was quite unsettling at first,
but once you get used to it, the tires really are nice. Since, thuough,
you are looking for stiffer sidewalls, i wouldnt choose them...
