[urq] Front Brake Upgrades

Justin,
I am in the final stages of a possible group buy of just such a system. I
dropped all the hydraulic parts off at the mechanics today, rotors come
tomorrow.
I have sourced a limited # of (factory) TT calipers/carriers/hoses and pads
as a system. It should use A8 rotors that I can include or source yourself.
  The A8 rotor gives you 312mm x 25, vs the 288 x 25 of the A4 and 276 x 25
of the standard 5000TQ G60 upgrade. The A8 and TT rotors are the same
dimensions aside from the hat depth, the A8 has the correct depth. That
said the TTQ 225BHP coupe weighs it at 400 to 600 lbs more than the UrQ, add
another 400 - 6000 on top of that for the A8, and I think you have a set up
that should prove pretty good for the UrQ. Still wrangling pricing as the $
has nosedived against the Euro since I put this together, but should still
be 1/2 or less than the Big "big brake" options.
Looking at the 2 different rotors/pads side by side is quite an eye opener!
Needless to say, if it is bolt up, than it would also offer alternatives to
some of the type 44 crowd as well.
Drop me a line if your interested.
thx
Mike

Has anyone ever "upgraded" the front brakes by using either the A4
rotors (288x25) and calipers, or the TT calipers with the A4 or other rotor?
