You may also want to carefully check for cracks in the head.  Mine was
warped and had some hair-line cracks on the side facing the head
gasket-yikes!  I replaced my WX head one from a KH.

The cost of having a machine shop deck the head is pretty trivial compared
to the time it will take you to get the whole head off the car in the first
place.  I had a lot of work done on my head, but I think machining it flat
was $60.  If you're not wanting to do a bunch of other stuff while you're in
there, do this at a minimum.
