You'll probably have to remove the oil cooler shroud as well. be careful of the hot lead on the back of the alternator. I used a bit of electrical tape to cover this to avoid disconnecting the battery every change. on my motor (and maybe others) the part the filter physically screws to comes out a bit on removal. be sure to tighten this before installing the new filter. Not real tight, I just used my fingers.

Filters only OE (dealer): normal P/N 035 115 561, turbo P/N 035 115 591, but they are all FRAM I believe.
For easy ground clearance jack up the car (I use mini ramps, AKA baby bridge in Holland). The plug is easily located at the bottom of the oil pan. Please use new washer. The turbo filter is a pita though, you will need a special FRAM tool with hex adapter (try your local DIY shop).
All in all easy job. Please consider regular oil changes (10.000 km normal, 20.000 km turbo filter)
