[urq] Fuel Accumulator Removal

The fuel accumulator is there to hold pressure so when the engine is hot, the fuel won't boil out of the lines. This is to prevent vapor lock. If there is no pressure, the fuel will boil out of the lines, and the car will take forever to start from hot - BTDT.

Don't know if your car requires it or not. I guess the question is, does your car have another way to hold fuel pressure to the injectors (a fuel press regulator, for ex.)? If so, you don't need it. If not, the accumulator is necessary.

Howdy!

Has anyone out there with a 20v or EFI converted 10v removed the fuel
accumulator? I understand that without CIS, it is no longer needed.
I ask because I split one of the plastic-y lines while replacing my
fuel pump. In replacing this line, I'm thinking about bypassing the
accumulator.

By the way, my plan is to get some decent fuel hose and clamp it to
the existing barbed fittings. I figure about 80 PSI max fuel
pressure, so do y'all think this is sufficient?

Thanks,
Rich
