This reminds me of my starting issues. When the car has sat for an
intermediate amount of time, say from lunch bell to quitting time at
work, ti is very hard to start. Cold starts are pretty good and warm
starts after a short sit are good too.

Cold start injector?

hot, the fuel won't boil out of the lines. This is to prevent vapor
lock. If there is no pressure, the fuel will boil out of the lines,
and the car will take forever to start from hot - BTDT.

does your car have another way to hold fuel pressure to the injectors
(a fuel press regulator, for ex.)? If so, you don't need it. If not,
the accumulator is necessary.
