In response to the questions:
There is no apparent loss of fluid
No Metallic sounds-the release bearing was brand new as was the guide that
it slides along.
There are no visible leaks.
BUT.....I have bled it once again and it seems to have improved. The pedal
is no different, it wasn't what I would call spongy before and it isn't now
but somehow seems to have improved the situation slightly.
So I reckon it is an hydraulic issue, possibly still some air in there
although I didn't see any come out (its difficult to see when you are
bleeding it on your own) on the last bleed which seemed to improve things.
If it gets worse again I guess I have to assume that it is, as suggested, a
failure of one of the new components. Hope it's not the master cylinder -
hated changing it last time!
