... no BTDT, but I'm finding it hard to correlate lightening the flywheel with maintaining a constant speed on the freeway ... certainly the amount of inertia the transmission adds should wash out any loss of rotating mass in the flywheel.
If your car is having problems maintaining speed under cruise control I'd recommend looking for something else wrong ... like sticking in the speedo cable or a slight vacuum leak in the cruise control plumbing.
