[urq] .Ur Q meets 4000Q board computer

You may have an issue with the range, as the 4kq computer is made to work with the 70 liter tank, not the 90 liter tank as in the ur q. On the digital dash, you can put in a jumper on the pcb to change the capacity from 70 to 90 liters (at position S1 on the PCB). I haven't found anything similar on the 4kq computer.

BTW, the digital dash DOES need the consumption signal from the pot on the metering arm, or the consumption signal from one of the later Motronic ECUs which will also work...

... this is similar to something I've wanted to do ... incorporate the CGT
Digidash into my car. I suspect that it will work, but I don't have
confirmation. The fuel economy will likely be the least of the worries
though ... my biggest concern is calibrating the range value due to the
larger tank.

You probably know this, but the FD itself has little to do with the
consumption display ... it is the mounting plate that has the potentiometer
that the computer uses for its calculations. I suspect you don't want a 4kQ
metering throat ... I was thinking the part from an MC engine might be
preferred ... that or seeing what it would take to modify the urq plate to
hold the potentiometer ...

Is it possible to adapt a 4000Q computer to work correctly with a 1985 Ur
Quattro. Assuming the inputs were there.... like an MC fuel distributer with
MPG output..... is there enough range in the MPG and range settings to get
the thing to work? Thanks.
