"As an aside, is it true that '85 is year they went to galvanizing the
shells?"
I don't believe any North American t85 cars were galvanized, were they?
I believe t44 cars were galvanized beginning in 85 for the 86 model
year. In my experience (83 UrQ, 85 5ks, 86 5kcstq, 87 5kcstq, 91 100,
95 A6q, 95.5 S6A etc, etc) galvanization on mid-late 80's cars was the
most effective. My 86 5kcstq with 187k on the clock has not even a
speck of rust on it. Been in New England it's entire life. OTTH, my
95.5 UrS6 Avant had a bit of rust perforation. They don't build them
like they used to heh heh...
Anyone?

This car has been posted on a number of occasions on audifans as a
regular classified. What I find amusing is that the car is described as
having never been 'wrecked.' I suppose this is technically true if the
title is clean. The pictures show very clearly that the passenger
rocker panel and front fender have met up with a foreign object...
All in, it looks like a pretty good deal, but I'd definitely want to
inspect it firsthand before placing a bid.
As an aside, is it true that '85 is year they went to galvanizing the
shells?
