[V6-12v] FW: Non-Starting Car

Cai,

It's been a while since I've worked on that engine, but I did replace the
coolant sensor (2-pin device). It's located in the metal coolant line that
runs behind the engine on the port side (drivers side in most countries).
There's a bleed screw (shiny with socket head) then the coolant sensor. It
wasn't difficult to replace. You'll need to have a little bit of engine
coolant on hand as you'll likely lose a little bit. Make sure you use the
same coolant as what's already in the car.

As far as I recall, the cam sensor is located on the port side cylinder head
between the head and the firewall. I never replaced it myself, but I seem to
recall people talking about it being relatively plug & play as the sensor is
keyed. I'd still put cylinder 1 at TDC before replacing it, though. I seem
to recall cylinder 1 being the furthest forward on the port side, but could
be wrong. As I said... It's been a while.

Note that the Audi connectors have a little metal wire deal on them that
locks the connector in place. Push this metal deal towards the connector
housing and the connector pops off without much force needed. If you need to
pull hard, you're doing something wrong.

Good luck.

~ Tom
