Hi,
Re. Audi connectors.
First off, NEVER pull the wires. Always pull on the connector housing. This
goes for any connector.
The same style of connector is used all over the place in that car. Find a
connector that you can see and have easy access to. Maybe one of the fuel
injectors or the MAF sensor, or something. Practice on that one.
Do NOT pry the metal wire loop off the connector. Along the long dimension
of the connector you will see that the wire makes a U shape. Push on that U
shape towards the plastic housing of the connector (perpendicular to the
connector pins). If you grab the connector with your thumb and index finger
the pushing motion on the wire loop will feel pretty natural. It should not
take a lot of force to push on that wire loop to the point where it makes
the connector release. Once you have pushed the wire loop up against the
plastic housing of the connector, the connector should un-mate easily by
pulling away from the sensor's connector.
Do yourself a favor and take a close look at one of those connectors. It's
fairly obvious what needs to happen when you look at the connector, but
rater difficult to describe in words.
