[V8] IC cluster (again)

About the IC,

   Mine did the same - I fooled and fooled with that thing and figured
that it was a breakdown in the circuit board itself.  I was also having
problems with the oil pressure light and annoying buzzer associated with
the light coming on intermittently.  I ended up buying a used one - but
even that one has a non-functional auto check display.
