[V8] Audi Factory Recall

This is about D, as in Deutschland!  I am going to be in Germany in
February for business, and am going to take this opportunity to tour the
Neckarsulm factory near Stuttgart.  This is the birthplace of the V8
Quattro and they currently build the A6 and A8 cars.  I spoke to their
tour coordinator this morning, and he said that they can accommodate up
to 25 guests on the tour.  I then told him that I represent the Audi V8
club of the United States and wanted to write an article for our
magazine; would there be someone I could interview that worked at the
plant in the early 90s that could tell me what it was like back then?
He gave me the phone number to the lady that runs the Press office...  I
left her a message.  :-)

I was also offered to drive my buddy's '94 4.2l 6-speed while I am over
there, but he explained that there are 2 potential problems: insurance
and the price of Super ($5.88 per gallon!)  Expensive as hell, but what
an opportunity!  Time to sell the wood working tools. ;-)

The factory is only open M-F, so I am shooting for a tour on the 25th of
Feb, 2005.  This is probably a long shot, but if anyone else is going to
be 'in the neighborhood' drop me an email.  (Tour would likely be in
German)

Depending on the length of my stay, I am going to try to visit a friend
near Ingolstadt as well.  He says that he might be picking up a new A4
around that time...  How cool would that be?

I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out as planned,
and will obviously keep you guys posted of my travels.
