[V8] Irregular idle, stalling and balking when pressing accelerator

many thanks for your help!
I checked the ECU codes on the web page to see if any described my
problems....  I found that ECU problem code 2341 (Oxygen Sensor Control
Limit exceeded) refers to - 'Extremely lean or overly rich exhaust'.  The
cause, faulty O2 sensor!
First thing this morning is to pull the codes - and keep my fingers crossed
that the ECU 'blinks-out' 2341.

Don't despair; sounds like you have had pretty good luck so far...

If the problems started when you left the mechanics, don't rule out the
fact that they may be the cause of your new problems...  Even the best
shops out there can occasionally knock a connector loose, hook up a new
O2 sensor incorrectly, order the wrong part, etc...  You might start
there.

Have you pulled the codes since these new problems started?  Very easy

Well.... after almost four years of trouble free service the Audi
gremlins are out to get me.  My problems started when I noticed a larger
than normal volume of white exhaust in the cold air.  Having dutifully
read my 'audifans' e-mails my immediate conclusion 'time to change my O2
sensor'!   I took it to my mechanic who replaced the unit with a Bosh
unit which he spliced into the wiring harness, at the same time he
mentioned my Air Temperature sender was getting to the outer edge of
it's range.

When leaving the garage I noted balking when the accelerator was
depressed, but then it 'went-away' so I thought I would mention it when
taking the 'Pearl' back for the Air Temperature sensor.  During the past
week the car has stalled at lights a couple of times - restarting
immediately (with the key) and balks when I try to overtake.  After
stopping and restarting, the engine seems to run fine for some time
before the problem re-occurs.

Any suggestions, recommendations (other than sell my 'Pearl') would be
gratefully received.
