[V8] Door locks-de-icer

If I recall, didn't the V8 have a feature that if you lift the door handle
and release, it will activate a heater to de-ice the lock for 30 sec. or so?
Was wondering how this was integrated with the lock mechanisim, I need to
repair the passenger side lock some day.
I tried the de-icier the other day, 1/2" of freezing rain, and appeared to
have no effect. 

Received 10 inches of snow yesterday, GREAT V8Q weather :-) Only time I can
get the rear end of the beast to hang out a little, nice to throw it into
some power slides when the conditions and the opportunity present itself.
