[V8] Audi V8 Exhaust

My 91 has been through a couple of different exhaust scenarios, trying
to find the most pleasing.  I originally had straight pipes made for my
resonator, (I nearly cleaned one off the car in a off-highway
excursion)that cost about $50. What I noticed, and that I can confirm
from other cars that have had it done is that it is ALOT noisier this
way, and not all of it good. There was much more V8 presence, and
rumble at idle, but under load, especially uphill, during the 1st-2nd
shift, there was a raspiness, that would resonate, and just wasn't very
pleasant sometimes, also during long engine compression braking
situations (my car is a manual) you could hear the exhaust popping as
it loaded up. Not too much different than the "Harley Farts" my road
king does in the same situation. After several months of playing with
different ideas, a fellow harley rider, who happens to work at an
exhaust shop offered some help.  He used flowmaster's charts (or
something) to calculate engine volume & pipe length, etc..  He came up
with a flowmaster dual inlet muffler, feeding to a 3" round tip (not
too big mind you but not stock looking either) the tip projects about
2" past the bumper valance and since then, I've been much happier (and
about $250 poorer). First impression is that it seems much quieter,
than the stock muffler/no resonator approach, but then it dawns on you
that it is MUCH bassier, not booming, just deep, throbbing bass.  When
you accelerate, there is no more resonating or high pitch noise in the
car, and it sounds just glorious.. Possibly a little too loud for the
stealth obbsessed on the list, but then again, MY car isn't about
stealth, the S4 is.  Anyway, if you want more info, let me know, I
