[V8] To rich and backfiring above 1700 rpm

Cobram,

What all is involved in the repair? I am assuming transmission R&R and
the cost of a new flywheel.

Is a toasted fuel pressure regulator the main cause of stripped flywheel
teeth?

Thanks for the FPR replacement instructions on you website! I did mine
last summer for around $50 IIRC; cheap insurance.

Regards,

- Jeremy

Sorry to inject a dose of reality here. Pull the starter or check
through the inspection hole and you'll find stripped teeth on the
flywheel. BTDT. When #1 son stripped 2 teeth on V8Q #1 it was
driveable
for a few months, wouldn't rev or run above 2000RPM but still ran fine
in
the lower ranges. Then one day she just up and died, one mesh too many
between the starter and ring gear removed enough of what was left to
keep
her from starting or running at all.
