[V8] a/c clutch

Question unrelated to the engine cooling topic:

My A/C clutch is sticky, i.e. the compressor won't kick on unless I help the magnet by inserting a long screwdriver end between the pulley and compressor and twisting (with engine running and a/c on).  Doesn't take much force, and once it's engaged, it'll respond to on/off all day.  But if it sits overnight, it won't engage again.

So, the question:  is this serviceable without removing the compressor?
