I went out and checked mine, and you are right on the money.  It was made more obvious because my car was on an incline, which forced the hump in the control arm right under the distributor cap.  Now I know what to tell him and why it looked trashed; it's cause it was!
I figured out that I wasn't truly running on 4 cylinders until I left the dist. cap off tonight; sheesh, that thing really did feel like a two+ ton pig!  Getting it on the trailer was fun.  I dumped a lot of gas cause it wouldn't start if you unplugged the injectors, so I'll have to have the O2 sensor changed as well.  Good thing I went for the lifetime alignment cost this time around.
