So I put the V8 on the lift and !VIOLA! not only are the front control arm
bushings pretty close to toast, but the driver's-side subframe bushings
are basically gone. So I'll drop the whole subframe and do all bushings
and trans mounts at the same time as the control arm swap. Should make
for an exciting day. In the interrum I brought the tires up to correct
pressure as inidicated on the gas-door (29psi up to 36psi) and now the car
is much more responsive in accelleration! What a hoot. The tire pressure
increase has reduced driveline shudder as well.
HVAC issue seems resolvable with blocking the radiator which allows the
oil to get close to 100c, and water as well. NOW I get some heat.
Some night this week I will be attacking the instrument cluster repair
ala:Ingo. I bought the fancy new ColdHeat cordless soldering pencil from
RadioShack and will report on it's function as well.
Why the heck did it take so long for me to get a V8?
