... the oil drain requires a 10mm hex key, and the filter has a Hex Cap
welded on the bottom of it ... I think it is either 22mm or 24mm ... but
who cares, use an adjustable wrench ... or even a pair of Vise Grips.
The filter is an odd one, make sure you have a replacement before
getting started!
To my mind a 200 mile trip isn't going to make that much difference ...
if it were me I'd just drive the car home and do the oil change at home
... the oil will be good and hot when you get home too ...
I suppose another easy alternative would be to warm the engine up and
drain the pan before driving home, but don't worry about the filter
while you are at the pick up site.
BTW, when it comes to filling the oil on the V8 there is a bit of
variance on capacity ... if you do a filter change, fill with 8 quarts
and then add oil checking the dipstick to see that the fill level is
within the operating range on the dipstick. Start up the engine and let
it warm up for a minute, then stop it and check again. I usually fill
the filter when I do the installation, so I usually don't have to add
anything further ...
Good luck!
