[V8] Drove Through Snow, now alt=kaput? Belt is still on!

Rob,
About to reattach the access belt on my V8 --second time and second car I've
done this with -- there is a good reason for that belly pan in tis kind of
weather ;-)
Anyhow, once things have warmed up, you may well find your alt working
again. For some reason they don't like to have snow packed into them...
I've had this happen on a few occasions.
