[V8] front shock insert replacement question

Welcome to the V8 list, Dan.  IIRC, this can be done for conventional (i.e.
NOT Bilstein shocks) and also makes sense as to the (albeit few) Bilstein
failures I've seen.  Bilsteins have a breather hole at the bottom (part of
the reverse tube shock design) that must not be blocked.  Water ingress (and
probable winter freezing ) would be most detrimental to this design as would
any fluid at the bottom of the strut tube.  Conventional Boge shocks or
Koni -- can't see a problem.
