[V8] Rear Suspension Upper Control Arms

Swapped tires today in preparation for winter. For the first time I felt a significant amount of lateral play in both rear wheels that, upon closer inspection, is the result of the lateral upper rear control arm (or link....whatever you want to call it) joints having a good 1mm's worth of play (both left and right). I am referring to the upper joint on the rear hubs. I understand that this is a common wear and tear problem, and that replacement is the solution. (Car has 180 000 miles and both rear wheel bearings were replaced in the past 6 months).

My question goes out to those listers who have already addressed this problem. Which parts do I need to replace? The whole links/control arms with both joint endings OR can I just buy the lateral joints and call it a day? Any secrets to removing and replacing?

  TIA....
