I did my rears without the tool, but its a bit cumbersome. Basically used a c-clamp and channelocks together -- tighten clamp, turn piston clockwise, tighten, turn, etc. Best to turn the piston a bit to free it up and get it used to rotating. Be careful to not damage the boot seal, and maybe use a rag between the pliers and the piston so it doesn't get all gnarled up.
But first tighten the bleeder screw. No need to mess with that...

Hi all,
Located some rear pads. Dis-assembled brake ass'y - cracked bleed screw & put a C-clamp on the piston - seems to be stuck. Any tricks or things I may be missing? The brakes a very similar to others I have done in years past, and all have compressed with no problems. Is this piston just stuck tight? If so, should I be shopping some new pistons?? Thanks
