There is a timing mark on the distributor - BUT -
what are you trying to do?
If you are trying to hold the cams for t-belt replacement, you need to hold the
cams on both heads in position while you install the belt. Some have done it
without the cam locks, but why? they weren't that expensive and make life soooo
much easier. With the bumper off you can probably get by with out all the other
tools, so splurge and get the cam locks. My reasoning was that with the tools, I
could afford to have a water pump fail - and it did. I bought most of the tools
called out in the manual, and figure they have paid for themselves already.
I had to go back into the t-belt for a failed water pump and for a failed oil
pump drive bearing.
