[V8] Front end questions

I installed new outer tie rod ends about 6 months ago and they are worn out 
again. Any ideas as to what can cause this? I'm thinking about installing
all new bushings, as well as inner/outer tie rod ends. Would this be something
that can be done in ones garage with a standard selection of tools? 

Also, can the outer CV joints be replaced easily or is it best to just pay
the $225/side for fresh half shafts?
