[V8] 4000 variants (NV8C)

A 2 door 1984 4000S was my first new car. It was the 4-banger though and FWD.
It was a great car and I wish I had it now with gas where it is...

I still remember the consumer report for the Audi GT (there was no review for
the 4000). They compared it against the POS Nissan NX. It was truly Orewellian
reading. They duly noted how nice and quite and powerful the GT was,
specifically noted its good seats and driving position but just could not
recomend it because it was an Audi.
The POS er I mean the NX they specifically noted the cramped and crummy seats
and wimpy motor, but they liked all the road noise and transmission gear whine
because that made it feal like a real sports car.

I quite reading consumer reports back then and have not gone back.

Ironically - I knew a girl who was un-lucky enough to own the POS NX - every
time it rained and the outside temp was freezing, her throttle linkage would
freeze up. Good thing it had no power or something bad coulda happened...
