... don't forget to check the fuel pump ...
How did you test to verify no spark? Timing light on the coil to
distributor wires? If indeed you see no sparks at the coil wires it
does tend to support the reference/speed sensor diagnosis. If you
wanted to do a quick test before spending $$$ you can swap the reference
and speed sensors at the mounting plate ... and swap the connectors at
the wiring harness end too. While the mounting plate is out you can
test both sensors with the ohmmeter. It may be that you need to replace
both ... the engine should start from cold as long as the speed sensor
is working, but if the reference sensor is not working you will likely
have hot starting problems.
While I suppose it is possible for a flywheel sensor to fail
catastrophically without warning, I think it would be very unlikely.
IME there were times the engine would cut out for short periods when
very hot and later fully stall as the sensor deteriorated.

I pulled the codes, and it was giving me the code for the RPM sensor
(2111), however my car will not start and according to the documentation
that I have
(http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/trouble_shooting/ecufv8.html#fcthree)
sometimes when the car will not start and you pull codes 2111 will come
up. Does anyone out there have any experience with this?
I have not had any hot start issues with the car, but I have only owned
the car for a couple of weeks now. What else could cause my problem? I
am missing spark from both sides of the engine.
