[V8] Vespa???

2 stroke diesel engines are designed differently than a two stroke gas 
motor. Since there is fuel injection, the crankcase is not pressurized. 
Instead there are ports at the base of the cylinder that are opened by 
the movement of the piston no reed valves required. 2 stroke diesels 
must be supercharged, a turbo only won't work. Many however are blown 
and turbocharged. Air pressure generated by the blower pushes the 
exhaust gasses from the cylinder through the exhaust valves. Whereas in 
a 4 stroke engine, the piston does this. The most common 2 stroke 
diesel you'll find is the 52 and 71 series made by Detroit Diesel over 
the past 60 or so years.
