[V8] V8] cooling system thermostat

Put in the old thermostat and the temp gauge barely got over the mark
halfway up between 50 and 100. I'm going to reinstall the new thermostat to
verify its operation and probably be getting another new thermostat. Sadly,
I bought this new one many months ago and through a friend with a World Pac
acct so I doubt I can return it... wouldn't ask him to do it and doubt my
local parts place would deal with that either.
FYI, a proper V8 thermostat has a tiny check valve in the edge that should
be positioned at the top when mounted in the car. There is a similar
thermostat for the V6 engines, but that check valve protrudes more and must
be bent down a little for installation. I believe I have the correct
thermostat in regard to this check valve/air vent thingy.
