For me, it's the similar.  I got AOL back in '94 I believe.  It  was the only 
thing out there.  It remained convenient, as I travel a lot...  and for a 
long time it was the only service that you could plug into any phone  line, 
anywhere, and quickly look up a free local access number.
 
Now, it's turned into a crappy isp turned marketing tool that is  overpriced. 
 But at this point I feel stuck, as my email address has over  10 years of 
"equity" for many business contacts.  I feel like it would be  impossible to 
update everyone that mattered of a new email address.
 
So, I live with it... despite yet another rate increase.
